Is there such a thing as transnational biodiversity conservation in which migrants are still committed to environmental issues in their country of origin? Explore the role of diaspora communities in shaping biodiversity conservation through stories and geographical narratives at Berlin Science Week. Led by the ZooMap team of the HNEE in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Berlin, participants from the diaspora will jointly create a counter-map of the awareness of biodiversity in the diaspora, record the situatedness of diaspora histories and foreground the interfaces, movements, tensions and stories in which "Diaspora in Conservation Becoming" takes place.
This is a face-to-face event with a limited capacity of 35 participants. Registration is required by October 28, 2024. ➝To sign up
